"Dark Red is a dark red color." - eloquently phrased by none other than Wikipedia.
I was inspired by my lack of activity at work to write a bit about the color brown. Naturally, I was then further inspired to make a quick clarification on the color maroon. My investigative mind lead me to the wellspring of knowledge known as Wikipedia (proof for such a claim is cited above). On the page for maroon, hints of purple were only mentioned in the descriptions of "bright maroon" and "rich maroon" not for standard maroon.
